Guidelines
To become a member of the Eagle Creek 9 Hole Ladies League:
· You must be an Eagle Creek Golf Member or Renter with golf privileges. New members must sign up on ForeTees under 9 Holer Member Registration, answer required questions and click submit. Your Eagle Creek membership account will be charged $80 for league dues for the 2025-26 season.
· New members must provide their last 5 golf scores either thru the USGA GHIN Handicap System or from an accredited golf club. If you do not have a handicap established, you will be required to post 5 scores played at Eagle Creek before being eligible for prizes. The Golf Shop staff can help you enroll in the USGA GHIN Handicap System to establish your handicap.
USGA RULES will govern play and etiquette on the course.
RULE 1.3: A PLAYER IS EXPECTED TO
1. Act with integrity by following the Rules of Handicapping and to refrain from using the Rules of Handicapping for the purpose of gaining an unfair advantage.
2. Attempt to make the best score possible at each hole.
3. Submit scores to provide reasonable evidence of their demonstrated ability.
4. Play by the Rules of Golf.
5. Certify the scores of fellow players.
LEAGUE PLAY—In order to play on Tuesdays (Tournament games) or Thursdays (casual play), you must sign up on ForeTees or you may call the Golf Shop to have them sign you up. You must sign up by Saturday for Tuesday play and by Monday for Thursday play, unless otherwise specified on ForeTees. Members play as assigned by the Golf Shop. You are notified of your tee time and pairings 1 day in advance via ForeTees.
TOURNAMENT GAME DAY - A minimum of 12 players is required for sweeps or cash awards to be paid out. Tuesday games or any day that sweeps are paid are considered tournament days. For tournament play, the handicap limit is 20 for 9 holes. 9 Hole Ladies play from the Silver/Green Tees.
SWEEPS - Winnings are paid as Sweeps to be used in the Golf Shop. Winners of the 9 Hole Ladies League Championship and Most Improved Player will be awarded Sweeps on closing day. Queens’ Classic Sweeps will be award at the luncheon for the Queen’s Classic.
BIRDIES and CHIP-INS - If you make a Birdie or Chip-in on a Tuesday or Thursday, fill out a Birdie/Chip-in card after your round (available at the front counter in the Pro Shop). A witness must sign the card. Cards will be collected for payouts up to the week before Closing Day. Birdies and Chip-ins are not awarded on Scramble days.
MONTHLY LUNCHEONS - You must sign up for lunch (yes or no) on ForeTees if you are playing golf. If you are not playing golf on that day, you may sign up for lunch by calling Club Dining Reservations. If you have dietary restrictions, please indicate so in the notes when signing up on ForeTees. You must sign up one week in advance if you want to choose from 3 lunch selections; otherwise, you will be given what is available.
CANCELLATIONS - Inform the Golf Shop staff as soon as possible.
SCORECARDS - For each competitive event, one of the white official scorecards must be signed, attested and submitted to the Pro Shop upon completion of play.
SCORING DISPUTES - Two players must agree to address the discrepancy with the Golf Pro when it occurs or immediately after completion of the game. If the dispute stands, the player will receive a warning. Should a second dispute occur, said player may be disqualified from winning individual competition in any future events for the season.
HOLE-IN-ONE CLUB - As a member of Eagle Creek, you are automatically enrolled in the Hole-In-One Club unless you opt out. Your club account will be billed $5 for every Hole-In-One made. If you get a Hole-In-One, you will win a credit to your club account. Renters are excluded from the Hole-In-One Club.
RENTERS - Renters are eligible to play under the same guidelines as a member. However, they are not eligible to play in the Ladies 9 Hole Club Championship or to place or win in the Queen’s Classic.
GUESTS - May play with a member on Thursdays, but, in team games, a blind draw will be used in place of their score. Guests may not be awarded prizes. (Exception is the Charity Event).
PACE OF PLAY - 9 holes are to be played in 2 hours. Golfers are responsible to ensure that this pace is maintained. Tips for faster play include:
· If you prefer not to drive a cart or keep score, ask your partner to be the driver. You can let the cart barn staff know. The cart barn staff will gladly adjust your bags.
· Tee off on time.
· Play ready golf and keep up with the group in front of you. If you are golfing ahead of a player in stroke play, be sure that others are aware you are hitting. If a player is raking a bunker, it might be a good time for others to take a shot.
· GPS-Pull the golf cart alongside your ball to get the correct yardage to the pin. You can be doing this as another player is getting ready to hit her ball unless you are directly in her line. Always be aware of when others are hitting the ball.
· Park your golf cart past the green so you do not have to walk back to the cart or around a bunker. The passenger can take her clubs needed to chip and putt. If the passenger is already on the green, and the driver is not, perhaps the passenger can pull the cart up.
· Avoid putting your club(s) away until you get to your ball or to the next tee box.
· Enter scores at the next tee box. Tell your score to the drivers. While drivers enter scores, passengers can hit their tee shot.
· Try keeping the flagstick in, or place the flagstick and extra equipment between the hole and the parked golf carts for a quick exit.
· Avoid talking or other distractions as players are getting ready to hit the ball. Also, avoid talking on the green after players are finished holing the ball. Exit the green promptly.
· Pick up when you have reached your MAXIMUM STROKES PER HOLE (unless the game does not allow for it). See below for how to calculate your maximum strokes per hole.
POSTING SCORES - The Golf Shop will post your scores on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Outside of league play, you should record your scores on the USGA GHIN app.
NOT POSTING A SCORE - If a player does not post her score on a non-league play day within 2 days, the following will occur:
1st offense – You will receive a “Friendly Reminder” email.
2nd offense –You will receive a “First Failure to Post” email.
3rd offense – You will receive a “Second Failure to Post” email.
4th offense – You will receive a “Third Failure to Post” email.
At that time, the Handicap Committee will take action by posting a “Penalty Score”, which is equal to the lowest Differential in your scoring record. You may appeal to the Handicap Committee either by letter or in person within three days of receipt of a penalty notice.
GIVING PUTTS- All putts must be holed out if you are using your score in the day’s game.
MULLIGANS- They are not used per LPGA rules.
No walkers on Tuesdays or tournament days. Carts only.
SCORING
Some of the games we play are based on a gross score, without any handicapping. If so, it will be clearly written in instructions provided in the cart. If we are using net scores, subtract the number of dots on your scorecard from your gross score to determine your net score.
Maximum Score for Handicap Purposes
When using a net score for a game, there’s a limit to how high a score you can take on any hole. Your maximum score is called a Net Double Bogey. For most games we play, once you reach your Net Double Bogey, it is best to pick up your ball to facilitate pace of play. If a game calls for a gross score, do not pick up your ball.
Net Double Bogey = Par for the hole + 2 strokes + any handicap strokes (dots on the scorecard).
Examples:
· Par 5 + 2 strokes + 2 dots → maximum score 9
· Par 4 + 2 strokes + 1 dot → maximum score 7
· Par 3 + 2 strokes + 0 dots → maximum score 5
Posting Your Score
When playing in a 9-Hole League event (Tuesdays, Thursdays, or other designated 9-Hole events), turn in your scorecard to the Pro Shop - they will post your score for you.
For any other rounds played outside of league or club events, you are responsible for posting your own scores in GHIN.
If, for some reason, you are not able to play all nine holes, you must have played at least 7 holes for your round to count. If you don’t finish all 9 holes, use Net Par as the score for any holes you didn’t play.
Net Par = Par for the hole + any handicap strokes (dots) you receive.
Examples:
· Par 5 + 2 dots → record 7
· Par 4 + 1 dot → record 5
· Par 3 + 0 dots → record 3
