Article I- Name and Purpose
The name of the League is Eagle Creek Ladies 9 Hole League.
The purpose of the League is the promotion and enjoyment of golf among the members of the League.
Article II- Membership
Section 1. Membership in the League is open to women who are entitled to play golf through membership in Eagle Creek Golf and Country Club and have completed registration, begun the process of establishing a handicap, and paid annual fees to the League.
No golfer may be a member of BOTH the 9 Hole League and the 18 Hole League.
Section 2. All membership fees shall be established by the Executive Board and approved by the board from time to time in such amounts as they deem adequate to operate and maintain the League. Membership fees for the year begin each May 1 and end on the following April 30. Membership fees will not be refunded or prorated after opening day.
Article III- Meetings
A league meeting is held monthly from November through April. Executive Board meetings are called by the President at any time deemed necessary.
Article IV– Governance
Section 1. Eagle Creek Ladies 9 Hole League shall be governed by an Executive Board consisting of five League members who are in good standing at Eagle Creek Country Club. These Officers begin their terms immediately after the April League meeting. The five positions are President, Vice President, Treasurer, Recording Secretary, and Corresponding Secretary. The Executive Board shall manage all affairs of the League.
Article V– Officers
Section 1. President– The President shall preside at all meetings of the League and the Executive Board. She shall name committees and chairs as may be necessary for the functioning of the League. The President shall serve for one year, after which she shall serve as Advisor to the Executive Board for one year with no voting rights.
Section 2. Vice President– The Vice President, in the absence of the President, shall perform the duties of the President and she shall also work in conjunction with committee members. The Vice President shall serve for one year, after which she automatically becomes the President for one year.
Section 3. Treasurer– The Treasurer shall have custody of all funds of the League, pay all League expenses, keep a record of the receipt and disbursement of all League funds, prepare a budget annually for approval by the Executive Board and present a report of the financial affairs of the League at League meetings. The Treasurer shall serve for two years (Appointment in even-numbered years) but may be reappointed for consecutive one–year terms.
Section 4. Recording Secretary– The Recording Secretary shall keep the minutes of League meetings. She shall keep the Membership Roster updated for the annual publication of the directory and she will notify the Eagle Creek Pro Shop and accounting department of any updates for billing purposes. The Recording Secretary shall serve for two years (Appointment in odd-numbered years) but may be reappointed for consecutive one–year terms.
Section 5. The corresponding secretary shall send email announcements, as deemed necessary, to all 9 Hole Golf League members. The Corresponding Secretary shall serve for two years but may be reappointed in consecutive one–year terms.
Section 6. All officers, upon the expiration of their term of office, shall deliver to their successors all records and property belonging to the League
Article VI– Nominating Committee
There shall be a Nominating Committee consisting of the officers of the League, the Immediate Past President, and two additional members of the League appointed by the Executive Board.
Each year, the Nominating Committee shall appoint persons to fill the offices for which a term is expiring. The new officers will be introduced to the members at the April League Meeting.
Article VII- Vacancies
If the office of the President becomes vacant at any time, the Vice President will assume that office until the end of the unexpired term and then become President for her one-year term which will follow.
If any other officer positions becomes vacant at any time, the Executive Board may in its discretion, fill that office for the remainder of the unexpired time. The member filling the vacancy may be appointed by the nominating committee to the same or other officer position in the following term.
Effective Date:
These By-Laws shall be effective beginning with the 2026-2026 Season.
