Hi Ladies,
Our own Rosemary Coletta can now add another item to her long list of talents. A HOLE IN ONE! She brought hole #12 to its knees with a 7 iron today - amazing! Many congratulations to her! She is an inspiration to all of us.
Also included in this email are the results from Tuesday's 9 Hole Tee Up Tiki Hut Party Mixer. (Results can be found here.) It was a super fun afternoon, with Deneen and Greg Ruffolo and Cindy and Ray Swaback taking first place in Flight #1; and Sally and Frank Reindl and Sally Lam and Joseph Haack taking first in Flight #2. Thank you to Janet Bliss for her event coordination efforts.
IMPORTANT NOTE: IDEALLY, WE NEED TWO MORE 9 HOLERS FOR THE 9/18 MEMBER DAY APRIL 2 (that's next Thursday, 8:30 AM shotgun). We have two 18 holers waiting to be paired with one of you for this exciting "Candyland" scamble, which will be followed by a luncheon. Call the Pro Shop ASAP if you're interested - registration ends soon.
Happy Golfing To All!

Ladies,
Twenty-five ladies fought the wind and shivered this morning, completing the second round of the 9 Hole Championship, including those in our new 75+ senior flight. Our winners: Colette Donnelly in the regular 9 Hole flight and Pat Montgomery in the senior flight. Congrats to all the ladies who won runner up and net in both flights -- see results here. And we are certainly proud of ALL the ladies who played in the two-day tournament!
Photos of today's event will soon be posted on our website, www.ec9holers.com
NOTES AND REMINDERS:
- There's still availability to play next week in the 9 Hole Tee Up Tiki Hut Party (with dinner to follow) on March 24. Flyer is here. Signups end Saturday. Hurry up and practice your hula!
- We have 39 teams for the 9/18 member day April 2. But there are still some 18 hole ladies looking for a 9 hole partner so call the Pro Shop to get paired. It's a 9 hole scramble with the theme of "Candyland" - many surprises are planned for this sweet event. Flyer is here.
- We have another new member - welcome Kimberly Thornburg. Total league members now number 85! We are so popular!
- Our annual collection of Mother's Day gifts for Paula's Passion has begun, and runs through April 27.
Paula Records was an 18 hole golfer, an Eagle Creek neighbor and all around beautiful person. She was passionate about helping the children of Manatee Elementary give their moms a Mother's Day gift.
The 18 hole and 9 hole leagues are once again teaming up to continue Paula's Passion this year. We welcome gently used items such as purses, wallets, totes and jewelry as well as gift cards for Target, Marshalls, Kohl's and Walmart. We also have a team of shoppers available if you prefer to give cash donations.
Muriel Allard, 41 Grey Wing, and Sandy Rye, 770 Eagle Creek Dr., #104, are accepting drop offs for the 9 hole league. Boxes for the donations are located outside their entrances.
- VERY IMPORTANT NEWS! We are looking for a chair and volunteers to coordinate the Eagle Creek 9 Hole Invitational next year, March 4, 2027. Sometimes called interclub, local clubs take turns hosting these events during the season. Also, we would welcome volunteers to plan other events for the 2026-27 season. Won't you please consider lending your skills and leadership? There's a playbook for every tournament so don't worry about reinventing the wheel. Contact our president, Louie Peeler, louiepeeler@gmail.com for more information.
Let's hope for warmer weather next week. It's March in Florida, people!

Hi Ladies,
Our annual collection of Mother's Day gifts for Paula's Passion begins tomorrow, March 12, and runs through April 27.
Paula Records was an 18 hole golfer, an Eagle Creek neighbor and all around beautiful person. She was passionate about helping the children of Manatee Elementary give their moms a Mother's Day gift. She collected items like gently used purses, jewelry and scarves so the children could select a Mother's Day gift from Paula's collection at the school.
The 18 hole and 9 hole leagues are once again teaming up to continue Paula's Passion this year. We welcome any of the items listed in the flyer as well as gift cards for Target, Marshalls, Kohl's and Walmart.
Questions? Contact information for Joni McLaughlin and Karen Curley is listed in the flyer below.
More than 500 children have been able to participate in Paula's Passion in recent years. Let's do it again!

Dear Lasses,
A wee lady leprechaun came knockin’ at my door to remind me to remind YOU that we’re still looking for participants for both the regular 9 hole championship as well as the (new this year) senior 9 hole championship!
“Grab your bonnet and sticks!," is her message to you. “Come and join the frolick and fun March 16 and 17! Time’s a-wastin’!"
Here are the highlights:
Plenty of prizes: title of champion for low gross in both flights, plus low gross runner-up in both flights; and first and second prizes for low net in both flights. Isn’t that grand?
Our monthly luncheon and meeting with a taco bar after the final round is at 11-ish Tuesday, March 17. (Save the corned beef and cabbage for dinner - the leprechaun gave us special dispensation for a taco lunch). Call the lads in the Pro Shop if you're just planning to attend lunch.
The more, the merrier! By participating, we’ll add more smiling faces and more fun. Someone may unexpectedly get a chip in, a long putt or – saints be praised – a hole in one! It could be YOU!
Sign up on Foretees ASAP! Remember, there’s a separate registration for the seniors 75+ flight. Please help by registering soon so I can get this crazy little leprechaun off my driveway.
May the course rise to meet you!

March 6th Message from our Corresponding Secretary
Dear Ladies,
A beautiful morning and a remarkable day - that sums up our very successful 9 Hole Charity Golf Tournament and Luncheon yesterday.
We raised more than $9,000 to benefit Path2Freedom, a local organization that provides safe environments and long-term recovery programs for child survivors of human trafficking. Thanks to Jill Palmer, director of development, marketing and communications at Path2Freedom, for her insightful presentation during the luncheon. It certainly opened our eyes to the horrors of human trafficking in our community ... but also to the accomplishments of the young women and girls who have been able to rebuild their lives with the help of Path2Freedom.
Congratulations to the winners (view results here) of the step-aside scramble. Many, many thanks to the 116 participants and additional supporters, including the staff of the club, ProShop and bag room. We also extend our appreciation to the 18-hole Ladies League for its extraordinary support and participation.
Our hard-working co-chairs, Pat Montgomery and Cindy Swaback, spent many hours putting this gigantic event together. But it takes a village to pull it off, and they were assisted by the ladies in the pink aprons checking in players and guests, and selling mulligans and raffle tickets: Bobbi Bockelman, Janet Casey, Rosemary Coletta, Mary Hitpas, Denise Janus, Janet Raphel and Joanne Von Dungen.
Some of you have asked for more information about Path2Freedom and how to donate additional funds. The link to the donation page is https://path2freedom.org/donate/#give
Please take some time to browse through the website and understand the dire consequences of human trafficking in SWFL.
The generosity exhibited by the ladies of Eagle Creek yesterday was very special. Thank you again!

Dear Ladies:
Many of you will be happy as there is a long list of winners in today's Skins game. It put the Pro Shop computer to the test! The results are below. Congrats to the 10 winners - wow! Even Sandy Rye received a payout, golfing in a boot due to a foot injury. We're thinking that contraption may have helped her game!
REMINDERS AND SO MUCH MORE:

- WE NEED MORE PLAYERS FOR THE 9 HOLE CHAMPIONSHIP AND THE 9 HOLE SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP MARCH 16 AND 17! THE FLYER IS HERE. Not everyone loves competition but think of this as a real nice two-day outing. Play your own game. There's net prizes, too! Why not fling your visor into the ring and give it a try? VERY IMPORTANT - March 17 is our monthly meeting and luncheon. If you're not playing, please call the Pro Shop to register for lunch.

Five Eagle Creek 9-Hole League members took their retro style on the road to Forest Glen Golf & Country Club recently for the “50’s Rock Around the Golf Course” Invitational. Dressed in poodle skirts and fabulous 50’s accessories, Rosemary Coletta, Joni McLaughlin, Sandy Rye, Ellen Stigter, and Louie Peeler brought plenty of vintage flair to the fairways. Rosemary’s team danced their way into third place, with Ellen’s team finishing strong in fourth in a field of 26 teams!

Hi Ladies,
If the alligators stay home in 40 degree weather, we stay home, too! Only seven ladies took the challenge this morning. Unfortunately, we didn't have enough players to pay out any sweeps. However, (woolen) hats off to Pam Crain, Gloria Sweeney, Bobbi Bockelman, Deneen Ruffolo, Vicki Brockman, Kathy Shannon and yes, Martina Jennings. How they managed to stay warm and swing a club remains a mystery!
REMINDERS:
- The deadline for the Charity Day March 5 registration is Feb. 26. There are six spots left. Grab some partners and help us support this worthy local charity, path2freedom.org. Also, if you haven't deposited your $50 charity donation check, there's a clearly labeled box in the clubhouse office awaiting your contributions. Remind your guests about the donation, too.
- Click here to see the flyers for three upcoming events: The 9 Hole Championship and Monthly Luncheon March 16-17, the Tee Up Tiki Hut Party March 24, and the Candyland 9/18 Member Day April 2.
- We'd like to see all your smiling faces on the course for the championship. Everyone can play in this two-day event. Bring your inner leprechaun and see what happens! Gross and net prizes, plus a senior division for the 75+ lasses! If you are not registering for golf March 16 and 17, please participate in our monthly luncheon and meeting March 17 following the final round. Call the clubhouse to make reservations.
- For the Tiki Hut Party, you can ask another couple to pair up with you. Just put that request into the Pro Shop. It is a step-aside scramble.
- A reminder from the Pro Shop: On league days, you must fill out your scorecard and hand it in to the Pro Shop for posting. See page 8 in our handbook, or reference our website, www.ec9holers.com under League Guidelines.
- Chef's daughter is selling Girl Scout cookies (yum yum). Get 'em while they last in the administration office, $6 cash only.
Hopefully, this is the last meteorological email of the season. We have no more words for the cold weather of late. See ya later, alligators!

Hiya Ladies,
A bit of math dexterity was required in today's 1-2-3 game but that didn't seem to bother the winning team of Sue Esser, Caroline Pustowska, Trish Later and Sally Lam. No calculators needed for that group! Thankfully, next week's game is low putts so you won't need to worry (hopefully) about big numbers, lol .
Another "newsy" week:
- A HANDFUL of spots are available for the almost sold-out Charity Day March 5. Although the last day for sign up is Feb. 26, it's likely that all those spots will be taken by then. Congratulations to co-chairs Pat Montgomery and Cindy Swaback for getting this huge event launched. Reminder - your $50 donation checks can be deposited in the box in the main office (not the pro shop). Flyer is here if you need it for reference.
- We hope you're practicing your hula dance because signups for The Tee Up Tiki Hut Party are also moving quickly. The event is March 24, and is a 3 pm shotgun. Flyer is here. Lots of fun planned for this 9 hole event, followed by dinner. What's not to like?
- Another anticipated event for the season is also ready for registration: The Candyland 9/18 Member Day Golf Event April 2 at 8:30 am. Invite an 18-hole member to join you for this step-aside scramble and get ready for some really sweet surprises on and off the course! For the first time, this event has seven wonderful sponsors: Epic Air Conditioning, Halo Home Watch, Clean Up Group, Collier Painting, Storm Smart, Mediterranean Pool Services and Smythe Consulting. Thank you sponsors!
- Our next monthly luncheon is March 17 following the final round of the 9 hole championships. We invite you to play in the championship and/or join us for lunch.
- From the Pro Shop: Last Tuesday, Feb. 10, there was an error in charging for sweeps. If you played last Tuesday, you'll see a sweeps fee of $4 posted with today's date of Feb.17 on your account. If you played today, you will also see a sweeps fee with today's date.

Good Evening Ladies,
It warmed up nicely this morning, so perhaps it's safe to say we're through the worst of the cold mornings. We had enough players for two flights today: Vicki Brockman, Sandy Rye and Rita Condit came in first in Flight 1 with Rosemary Coletta serving as the blind draw. In Flight 2, Bobbi Bockelman, Rose Doherty, Trish Later and Sheila Peleaz took first place. Congratulations to all!
Next week's game is 1-2-3 Best Ball. Go to our website, www.ec9holers.com, for the complete description.
This week's news and reminders:
- Guess what? The 9 Hole Charity Day Golf Tournament March 5 is almost sold out! Hurry, hurry, hurry if you want to get in on the action. Call your teammates or sign up on ForeTees to have the Pro Shop pair you with a team -- don't delay! This is going to be a wonderful event with proceeds going to Path2Freedom, path2freedom.org, that provides critical services for children who have been trafficked in Southwest Florida.
- We have another great event on the horizon, and signups are also going fast for The Tee Up Tiki Hut Party March 24! See the flyer here.
- Our next monthly luncheon is Tuesday, March 17, following the final round of the 9 hole championship. EVERYONE is eligible to play in the two-day tournament March 16 & 17, and we'd like to see as many players as possible participate. So give it a think -- as Jason Day says, "You have to walk toward the fear." Translated from the Aussie, this means play your game, have fun, no worries.
- COMING SOON: THE 9-18 MEMBER DAY APRIL 2. Details will be coming soon so start thinking of a 18-hole partner for this step-aside scramble and luncheon. The theme is "Candyland" -- get ready for some really sweet surprises!

We experienced another chilly morning but .... once we got a few holes under our belt, it warmed up quite nicely. Nineteen of us were stripping layers of clothing right in the middle of the fairways! Where is the decorum anymore? Hopefully this is the last morning of over-the-top frigid temps. Congrats to the first place team of Deneen Ruffalo, Patricia Roach, Diane (Louie) Peeler and Colette Connelly!
Lots and lots of reminders, so listen up!
- Our Charity Day 9 Hole Golf Tournament is just about a month away, March 5. THE FLYER CAN BE VIEWED HERE. Members of the 9 hole and 18 hole leagues can play, as well as social members (this event does not count against the 6-time golfing rule for social members). Members can bring guests, so if you got 'em, invite 'em! Spread the word! If you don't have a team, the Pro Shop will pair you. And if you can't play for whatever reason, we will gladly accept a $50 donation to the charity. This year's charity, www.path2freedom.org, provides critical services for children who have been trafficked in Southwest Florida.
- We have another great event on the horizon -- The Tee Up Tiki Hut Party! This is a 9 Hole Couples Mixer Golf and Dinner to be held Tuesday, March 24, at 3 pm. THE FLYER IS HERE. So grab your spouse or partner, sign up on ForeTees and hula on over to this step-aside scramble!
- We are encouraging everyone to use our new website, www.ec9holers.com. Good Morning Ladies:
Below is a message from our president, Louie Peeler, regarding Tuesday's golf event and luncheon:
A number of you have been bundling up and playing golf despite the frigid weather. On a sunny day, if there's no wind, it's really not too bad! But regardless of whether you choose to play or not, please consider coming to our monthly luncheon Tuesday, Feb. 3. If you cancel golf and still plan to attend the luncheon, please verify with the Pro Shop or Lynne at the clubhouse.
If we have a low turnout, we will still be playing shotgun at 8:30 am, but may do an individual or two-person game instead of our step-aside scramble. There will be an added game-within-a-game, with a prize for whoever hits Closest to the Heart on the 4th fairway.
If we're lucky, the weatherman will be wrong, and we'll have a pleasant day. Either way, we hope to see you at the luncheon!
January 21st Message from our Corresponding Secretary
It seems unbelievable, but .... 18 ladies played this morning in 40-ish degree weather, factoring in the wind chill. Yikes!
The "chill" team of Deneen Ruffalo, Melanie Wilson, Debbie Kissinger and Jill Bowden. came in first and frostbitten in the two best balls out of four contest. Congrats! Additional congrats to the ladies (see results below) who made chip-ins and birdies this month; Judy Grayson had both!
Remember - next week, on Feb. 3, is our monthly luncheon so sign up ASAP. The game is a step-aside scramble.
More news to report:
- Our Charity Day 9 Hole Golf Tournament is just over a month away, March 5. THE FLYER IS HERE. Members of the 9 hole and 18 hole leagues can play, as well as social members (this event does not count against the 6-time golfing rule for social members). Members can bring guests, so if you got 'em, invite 'em! Spread the word! If you don't have a team, the Pro Shop will pair you. This year's charity, www.path2freedom.org, provides critical services for children who have been trafficked. It's hard to comprehend, and it is a big problem in Southwest Florida. That is why the league's board of directors chose Path2Freedom to be our charity beneficiary this year.
- If all the work on the league website, www.ec9holers.com, wasn't enough, our tech guru Judy Grayson decided to create a YouTube video to help members navigate the site. This very helpful video can be found through the link, https://youtu.be/s_Z4UoQL6Z4. It's only a few minutes long and you'll really appreciate the amount of information that we have on the site. When using the website, especially for the first time, remember to put www before the URL, as in www.ec9holers.com. Also, please send golfing photos that you would like share on the website to ec9holers@gmail.com so they can be posted. Finally, we are compiling a photo directory of our members that will reside on the site. If you have a head shot, send it in to ec9holers@gmail.com. Thank you, Judy, for all this fabulous work!
- We have a new member, Pamela Crain! Welcome to our league. That brings the number of 9 hole league members to 83.

Ladies,
We are announcing the BIG EVENT of the season -- our annual Eagle Creek Ladies 9 Hole League Charity Golf Tournament March 5 at 9 am.
This year's charity recipient will be PATH2FREEDOM, path2freedom.org, a local organization serving the needs of child trafficking survivors from rescue to restoration. You'll be hearing more about this organization in the coming weeks. Check out their website in the meantime, and you'll find a very compelling story.
The event flyer is included in this email. I have also attached a PDF file so you can pass it along to friends, potential guests and other members outside our league. Also -- if you know of anyone who cannot participate on March 5, we would still appreciate a donation for this very worthy organization.
Charity Co-Chair Pat Montgomery has added this information:
"The flyer states that Luncheon and Cart Fees for Members of the 9 Hole League and Guests will be charged to the 9 Hole League Member account.
PLEASE NOTE: MEMBERS OF THE LEAGUE WILL ONLY BE CHARGED FOR THE LUNCHEON AND CART FEES FOR GUESTS THAT ARE NOT MEMBERS OF THE CLUB.
If you invite two or three members of the 18 Hole League or Golf Members of the club to be on your team, their Luncheon and Cart Fees will be billed to THEIR ACCOUNT, NOT YOURS. A copy of this invitation has been forwarded to the the 18 Hole League to share with their members. The 18 Hole League members are also free to invite outside Guests. (NOTE from website manager, the flyer is available here.)
There is a box in the EC office for the $50 donation. THIS AMOUNT IS NOT CHARGED TO YOUR ACCOUNT. Each participant is responsible for their $50 donation.
Any further questions, please call or email me, Pat Montgomery or Cindy Swaback.

When our ladies participate in outside invitationals, they play great golf but they also play the part!
Our recent invitational participants, Ellen Stigter, Andrea Maldegen, Sandy Rye and Rosemary Coletta, put on their best cowgirl gear to play in the Twin Eagles "Annie Get Your Clubs" event. See below for a photo of the Eagle Creek sharp shooters!
And, for the second time this season, Sandy's team placed first. She is an invitational good luck charm!
A group of our ladies will attend the Jolly Roger Invitational at Countryside Tuesday, so let's hope they return with smiles.
There are still spots left for two February invitationals. Imperial Golf Club will host "Birdies on Broadway" Feb. 17. Forest Glen will host "50s Rock Around the Golf Course" Feb. 24. Please contact Sandy Rye ASAP if you are interested. Registrations will be closing soon.
Go to the Outside Invitationals web page to see the flyers and to the Special Event Results web page to see the picture of our participants.
Invitationals are a great way to play different courses, meet new people and enjoy the fun.

January 13th Message from our Corresponding Secretary
We have a new 9 Hole Queen! Roxanne Edick is Eagle Creek royalty! Congratulations to Roxanne for taking the top spot in the Queen's Classic, our two-day ringer tournament.
Joining her court are: Jill Bowden and Sharon Rowe from Flight One, and Judy Grayson and Nina Moore from Flight 2. Some of the golfing today was "lights out," i.e Judy Grayson getting a chip in and a birdie on the same hole! For more photos of the event, click on
https://sites.google.com/view/ec9holers/photo-gallery and scroll down to Queen's Classic.
More news flashes (not hot flashes):
- While you're on the web, go to ec9holers.com and check out Trash Day under Game Descriptions because that is what you'll be playing next Tuesday, Jan. 20. There's no casual golf this Thursday but our regular schedule resumes next week.
- There are still a number of spots available for the two February outside invitationals: Feb. 17 at Imperial and Feb. 24 at Forest Glen. Contact Sandy Rye ASAP this week if you want to register for those events. Sandy reports that the March 31 invitational at Stonebridge is full.
- It's not too early to start thinking about putting together your team March 5 Annual Charity Day scramble. The theme is "Pretty in Pink" (and pretty obvious what colors to wear). Shotgun start is 9 am, with registration at 8:15 am. Foretees registration is now available. You can invite up to three guests. There will be a $50 donation to the charity (TBD) from each player; luncheon and cart fees will be charged to the member's account. Flyer with all the details will be coming soon!

January 6th Message from our Corresponding Secretary
Hi Ladies,
We played B-I-N-G-O golf today and there was a fair amount of craziness on the course as we filled out golf bingo cards and did our best in the team scramble. Our top contenders were: Jill Bowden, Melanie Wilson, Kelly Lasso and Trish Later.
Seven ladies had Bingo, so we had a putt-off at lunch. Donna Mellon won first place, with Martina Jennings taking second. We also had a very nice monthly meeting and lunch, plus a couple of door prizes. Thank you to our Vice President Colette Donnelly, who subbed in for our President Louie Peeler at the podium.
Lots of notes this week, so read on:
- New member orientation is Thursday, Jan. 8, at 1 pm in the ladies lounge. Colette will be leading the meeting. Contact her at cecedon@me.com if you have questions or cannot attend.
- The Queen's Classic is next week, Jan. 12 and 13. It is a two-day event. On Monday, we record our gross scores; on Tuesday, we get a chance to better the score on each hole. It would be nice to have more signups because on Tuesday we crown our new Queen and have a taco bar salad luncheon. Prizes for players of all skill levels, too!
- Some additional SAVE THE DATE information: The Annual 9 Hole Charity Event will be held Thursday, March 5. Shotgun start is 9am followed by lunch. Members can invite 18 hole ladies as well as guests to play in this event. Or just sign up and the Pro Shop will put a team together. This is a great deal! There's no golf fee, just a $50 donation to the charity (which will be announced soon). More details to come on the luncheon, raffle, prizes etc. This year's theme is "Pretty in Pink."
- The league will host the "Tee Up Tiki Hut Party" Tuesday, March 24 at 3 pm. This event will be a 9 hole couples mixer and dinner. You can invite a spouse, another member of the club or a family member to make a team. Format is a step-aside scramble. Registration is now available on Foretees, so hula on over to your phone or computer to sign up!
That seems to wrap it up for now. By the way, we'll be sending out registration information soon for the February 17 invitational at Imperial Golf Club.

- ATTENTION NEW MEMBERS: There will be an important orientation for all new members of the league Thursday, Jan. 8, at 1 pm in the ladies' lounge. Please contact Colette Donnelly if you have questions or cannot attend.
- The two-day Queen's Classic will be held Jan. 12 and 13. There's lots of prizes for golfers of all skill levels, and we will crown our 9 hole Queen! A taco bar luncheon will be held following the game on Jan.13.
- Save The Date for upcoming invitationals: Feb. 17 at Imperial Golf Club, Feb. 24 at Forest Glen and March 31 at Stonebridge. Four players along with two alternates can register for each tournament. Hi Ladies!
Jan Raphel is our winner today in a game of Odds! Good golfing, Jan!
Next week's game on Dec. 30 is the Arizona Shuffle, so remember to sign up. Most likely you will not recall the Arizona Shuffle format, but it can easily be found under game descriptions on our website at www.ec9holers.com. There's no Thursday game this week; however, there is an opportunity to play on Thursday, Jan. 1. Some brave souls are already signed up -- such a great way to start the new year!
Important notes for upcoming events:
- Jan. 6 is Bingo Golf Scramble followed by our monthly luncheon. Don't miss out on this one - lots of fun in store, plus the popular putt-off.
- ATTENTION NEW MEMBERS: There will be an important meeting for all new members of the Eagle Creek Ladies 9 Hole League Thursday, Jan. 8, at 1 pm in the ladies' lounge. New members will receive an orientation to the league and have their questions answered. We encourage all new members to attend.
- The two-day Queen's Classic will be held Jan. 12 and 13. Best gross score will select the queen but we will have net winners as well. On Jan. 13 we will have a taco bar luncheon followed by the crowning of our illustrious queen!
Wishing you a very happy holiday season and all the best for the new year,

Hi Ladies,
It was a small group for today's game but nevertheless we had three winners for the Evens event, with Bobbi Bockelman taking first place! Congrats!
We have a number of reminders with the holidays around the corner and a lot of exciting events scheduled for January.
- Jan. 6 is a team Bingo Golf Scramble followed by our monthly luncheon. It's not just a scramble -- it's a scramble with bingo included! At lunch, back by popular demand, there will be a putt-off. Details to come. Remember to sign up now, especially if you want your choice for lunch.
- When you register for Jan. 6, scroll down and sign up for the Queen's Classic Jan. 12 and 13. This is a two-day event, with the prize going to the individual with the lowest gross score. However, this event also features flighted net winners too - and prizes! Sign up ASAP, play your game and join us for the celebratory Taco Bar luncheon following the final round on Jan. 13 and of course, the crowning of the Queen!
- Our previous email mentioned upcoming invitationals at other clubs. Pat Montgomery, who is coordinating our annual 9 hole Charity Event March 5, noted that the Foxfire invitational also falls on that date. Our charity event demands a lot of resources, so we would appreciate it if you refrain from signing up for the Foxfire event. We need everyone's help to make this charity day a success. The local charity will be announced soon. My apologies for any confusion.
- 2025 is almost history but there's still a lot of golf to play. Next week's game on Dec. 23 is Odds, and there is another game on Dec. 30. Casual golf on Thursdays takes place Dec.18, and for those who haven't partied too much, New Year's Day.

Twenty brave ladies bundled up today to play 2-Person Best Ball in what I've been told was "frigid weather in Florida." (Secretly I'm chuckling because this morning I woke up to 8 degrees in upstate New York!). But we all know chilly weather in Florida can be downright chilly -- so congrats to Judy Grayson and Janet Bliss for their win. Next week's game is Evens.
Also, we must mention the 9 hole ladies who turned heads at the Santa Mixer, not only for their costumes but also for their golfing prowess. Nine members out of 17 from our league came home with cash! Here are the highlights:
- Faye O’Brien was awarded best dressed
- Colette Donnelly and Sheila Konieczny won 3rd place in the Santa Claus flight
- Jill Bowden and Louie Peeler came in 1st in the Rudolph Flight; Janet Bliss took 2nd, Sheila Pelaez came in 4th, along with Gloria Sweeney in 5th and Trish Later in 6th.
Lots of updates will be forthcoming regarding January events and invitationals. Stay tuned, and always visit our website www.ec9holers.com for everything about our league.

Speaking of new members, Colette Donnelly, our vice president, will be holding a new member orientation Jan. 8 after golf. If you are available, we encourage you to attend. If not, please reach out to Colette if you have any questions.
Don't forget to sign up for next Tuesday's game, High/Low. And remember there is casual golf on Thursdays.
